2010 STAIR Residency Winner

Kelly Simms, 2010 SCNM graduate, is the recipient of one of two fully paid scholarships for a year-long STAIR residency at integrative clinics practicing complementary and naturopathic medicine.

Kelly considers her life to be a great adventure having traveled widely in Southeast Asia, which led to her decision to become a physician. She also led efforts in Alaska, her home state, to push for a health care act aimed toward helping Native Americans. Her passionate belief in integrative care is a perfect match for the STAIR residency.

Kelly will spend her residency time at Integrative Family Wellness Center located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She will practice under Michele Nickels, NMD and Bozena Simon, MD, combining family practice, chiropractic care, internal medicine, acupuncture and naturopathic medicine.

The STAIR residency program is supported by Integrative Therapeutics, Inc. (ITI) and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). Integrative Therapeutics has been a strong advocate for the naturopathic community since the company’s inception over 35 years ago. Naturopathic physicians played a key role in ITI’s development and they proudly partner with the AANP in this program to:

  • Help give back to the integrative medical community and the people they serve
  • Mentor future leadership in naturopathic and integrative medicine
  • Help expand graduate medical education, and
  • Enhance licensing efforts for naturopathic physicians
