Campus Community
The Southwest College campus culture is easy to sense, yet difficult to describe in words. Southwest College is a place
for meaningful discovery, academic challenge, real-life experience and lasting friendships.
Southwest College has drawn students with an astonishing breadth of experiences, interests and backgrounds. Our last incoming
class of 72 students hailed from no fewer than 60 different colleges, 53 different states and 5 different countries. Besides
excellent academic credentials, they also bring various backgrounds including nursing, medicine, environmental science, theater,
history and engineering, just to name a few.
Once you become a part of our community, your life will never be the same.
I am really inspired by SCNMs sense of family and support. This is an intense and demanding program, but
it is an incredible family of students and scholars. As a student you are not faced with the same competitive mentality that
occurs at other medical campuses. Brendan McCarthy, SCNM Alumni.

The campus is set on 15 Acres in the college town of Tempe, Arizona, home to Arizona State University. Campus grounds offer
students beautiful and tranquil outdoor spaces to study, relax and play, all of course in the generously sunny and warm climate
of Arizona.
If you look at the desert southwest with your heart, you will be shocked to see the fragile beauty and diversity
the desert offers. The diversity of culture that people have brought with them to Arizona has also made the southwest a new
world for those seeking healing, self discovery, nature and joy. Yolanda Rodriguez, SCNM Alumna
SCNM students have a strong sense of community, school spirit and responsibility as active participants in their education
and recreation. Student organizations abound in this college become a member of the Student
Government Association, join the Culinary Club, Homeopathy Club, Student Library Committee or take a yoga class.
