Alumni Office Staff
The Alumni Office is in the Enrollment Services Department, as we believe our alumni are a part of our life-long learning community. Administrative support is provided through the V.P. of Enrollment Management office, specifically by Melissa Winquist and Jain Lancaster, for maintaining alumni records, assisting alumni with questions, coordination of annual alumni reunions, and maintenance of the alumni Web page on the Southwest College Website.
Melissa Winquist, M.A.
Melissa Winquist has been with SCNM since 1996 and currently serves as the Vice President of Enrollment Management, which includes the Office of Alumni. She received her Master of Arts from Arizona State University and loves working with students from initial inquiry through enrollment and maintaining relationships with alumni after graduation.
Jain Lancaster
As the Executive Assistant to the V.P. of Enrollment, Jain is involved with some key aspects of the Alumni Office. Jain has over 15 years experience in office management, seminar planning/coordination, customer service and administrative experience. She joined SCNM in February of 2007 and is always eager to work with current students as well as alumni of SCNM. Jain is the voice behind the first contact for general alumni assistance, including updates on professional profiles and posting ND presentations on the Alumni website.
Alumni Office Services
The Alumni Office facilitates alumni benefits, communication, and alumni involvement in the College's operations. Alumni serve as adjunct faculty and clinic faculty. Alumni also promote the College in speaking engagements and are involved with bringing lecturers to the campus. They regularly receive College mailings and attend campus events. In these various capacities, the Alumni have the opportunity to interact with the entire Southwest College community. Alumni are also actively involved in student recruitment programs and will serve in greater capacities of fundraising programs in the future as the number of alumni increases.
The Alumni Office is responsible for creating an environment that allows alumni to take full advantage of the College's academic programs. The purpose of the Alumni Office is to provide support and services to alumni, so that they may meet their personal and professional goals. The Alumni Office supports a positive learning community and positive experience by providing accessible communication and support, including dissemination of accurate, current and professional information for all students, strengthening the college community cooperation and communication among departments, student groups, faculty, administration and alumni.
Alumni Benefits
Life-long educational opportunities are available to alumni of Southwest College. Alumni are welcome to enroll in and attend four free courses as offered by SCNM a year. Please note however, this does not include CEU (Continuing Education Units), electives, Special Seminars or Conferences, or Board Review Courses.
