Rick Kirschner, ND, Motivates and Prepares
Incoming SCNM Students During Orientation

During student orientation, incoming naturopathic doctor (ND) students met SCNM staff and faculty, participated in welcome events and networking ceremonies, learned about SCNM student resources and technologies, were matched with upper-class Peer Mentors, learned about teams and team-based learning, were introduced to student government and organization opportunities, and much more. Students spent the last two days of orientation in a “Healthy Communication Workshop” with Dr. Kirschner.

Dr. Rick Kirschner, well-known author, communications trainer, speaker and naturopathic doctor, shared strategies for students to be successful in their ND education and future practice as naturopathic physicians including communicating with impact, knowing one’s purpose, living with integrity, understanding and managing change, listening effectively and staying motived.

Dr. Kirschner has been interviewed on hundreds of radio and television programs including CNBC, FOX and CBC. His ideas are found in newspapers and magazines including USA Today, London Times, The Wall Street Journal and Executive Excellence.

In his private ND practice, he specialized in the treatment of stress-related illness and the mind/body connection. He co-authored “Dealing With People You Can't Stand: How To Bring Out The Best In People At Their Worst” and “ Life By Design: Making Wise Choices In A Mixed Up World.” His new book, “ How To Click With People: The Secret To Better Relationships In Business And In Life ” is in bookstores now.

Dr. Kirschner shares with new students the importance of understanding what makes people tick to effectively “click” with classmates, patients and professional peers.
