FACULTY SENATE
All SCNM faculty are members of the Faculty Senate. The Faculty Senate serves as a means for opinions and viewpoints of the faculty to be determined and then communicated to the administration of the College. It also serves as an agency through which faculty may participate in the formation of College policy affecting the faculty and its academic, clinical, and research activities.
There are several subcommittees of the Faculty Senate: Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate, Curriculum Committee, Library Committee, Faculty Promotion and Retention Committee, Institutional Review Board, and Grievance Committee. Each faculty member is required to serve on at least one of these committees. Definitions and duties of each committee can be found in the Faculty Senate By-Laws.
The Faculty Senate meets monthly at a time that is most convenient for the majority of faculty members. Meeting times are set at the beginning of the quarter for the current quarter. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory, unless teaching and/or clinic responsibilities conflict with the meeting time.
