Dr. Mona Morstein received her B.S., summa cum laude, in Foods and Nutrition from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Ariz., and her ND, naturopathic physician degree, from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oreg. Following graduation from NCNM, Dr. Morstein completed a year residency at NCNM’s out-patient clinic. She then moved to Great Falls, Mont. and established a successful private practice which she ran for 13 years. During that time, Dr. Morstein wrote regular newspaper articles for the Great Falls Tribune, had a weekly cable TV access show called “Natural Health,” and spoke at more than 100 meetings on various illnesses.
In 2002, Dr. Morstein was asked to join the faculty of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine by SCNM’s president and subsequently became an associate professor. Dr. Morstein is currently an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Supervising Physician of students in the out-patient medical clinic at SCNM along with her own busy private practice.
Dr. Morstein practices family medicine, treats patients of all ages and both sexes, for all acute and chronic diseases. She is recognized in the naturopathic profession as an expert on diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, and gastroenterology. She treats patients using the modalities of nutrition, western botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, nutraceuticals and naturopathic manipulation therapy. As part of SCNM, she is still an active international speaker and has been published in numerous magazine and newspaper articles.
As a faculty member Dr. Morstein teaches the following classes at SCNM: Core Clinical Nutrients (NUTR 670), Nutritional Disease Protocols (NUTR 740), Nutrition Throughout the Life Cycle (NUTR 752), and Gastroenterology (CLSC 834).
