

Division of Clinical Sciences Anderson,
Paul Division Director. Dr. Anderson has taught in Naturopathic
Medical Schools since 1994, and in other college programs since
1988. He was an Ophthalmic Optician from 1976 through 1994,
and was also an assistant in the department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at Willamette Falls Hospital in 1979. His residency
training in Oregon included Emergency Department training at
Eastmoreland General Hospital, and Family Practice training
through Providence Medical Centers. He focuses on Integrative
Medical care, combining the best aspects of naturopathic and
allopathic approaches. He is certified in Interventional Pain
Management by the Society for Pain Practice Management, and
is a physician member if the Infusion Nurses Society.
Axelrod, Leslie Professor. B.S., University of Massachusetts;
N.D., Bastyr University. Dr. Axelrod is a graduate of Bastyr
University (1987). She offers medical services including acupuncture,
homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, nutrition, botanical medicine,
family medicine as well as women's health. She also graduated
(1999) from Southwest College's Acupuncture program and is nationally
certified in Acupuncture.
Baral, Matthew Assistant Professor. Dr. Baral
received the B.A. in Biology from Castleton State College in
1994 and obtained the N.D. degree from Bastyr University in
2000. He is medical director of the Hamilton Elementary School
Clinic and teaches pediatrics and nutrition courses at the College.
Dr. Baral has a particular interest in childhood diseases and
has published papers on ear infection, childhood obesity and
autism. His focus is general pediatric medicine, nutrition,
autism, and attention deficit/hyperactivity.
Crinnion, Walter Director of Environmental
Medicine Center of Excellence. Walter J. Crinnion ND received
his naturopathic degree from Bastyr University in 1982. He developed
a specialty in environmental medicine and opened a comprehensive
cleansing center in the Seattle area for twenty years. In addition
to directing SCNM's Environmental Medicine Center of Excellence
he is an adjunct faculty member at NCNM, Bastyr U, and Univ.
of Bridgeport teaching environmental medicine to all the four
US naturopathic medical schools.
Martin, Pamela Assistant Professor. Dr.
Martin received her M.D. degree from Texas Tech Medical School,
Lubbock, Texas and completed a residency in pediatrics at the
same institution. Dr. Martin was in practice for 10 years in
Amarillo, Texas and has been an adjunct faculty member here
for several years. Dr. Martin will be teaching medical ethics,
hematology, musculoskeletal & connective tissue disorders
and HEENT.
Nevels, Jennifer Temporary Instructor. Dr.
Jennifer Nevels is currently a resident at the Southwest Naturopathic
Medical Center after graduating in the Summer of 2003. She holds
a BS in Psychology from the University of Arizona. The focus
of her residency is general family practice and women’s
medicine. She implements individualized treatments using botanicals,
acupuncture, nutrition and lifestyle counseling. She enjoys
doing research on women’s health topics and is involved
in coordinating the Annual Women’s Integrative Medical
Conference held at SCNM.
Smolinski, Debi Assistant Professor/Chair of Womens
Medicine. Dr. Smolinski is a graduate of Southwest College of
Naturopathic Medicine and is the Chair of the Womens Integrative
Medicine Department and an Assistant Professor at Southwest
College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Smolinski speaks regionally
on healthcare challenges that women face throughout a lifetime.
She is a staff physician at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center
focusing on female health issue's including: PMS, Menopause,
Osteoporosis, Menstrual cramps, Abnormal Pap smears, PCOD, and
Infertility. Dr. Smolinski primarily utilizes nutrition, botanical
medicine, homeopathy and acupuncture in her practice, tending
to the whole woman, through holistic healthcare.
