Baral, Matthew Assistant
Professor in the Divisions of Naturopathic Therapeutics and
Clinical Sciences. Dr. Baral holds the Doctor of Naturopathic
Medicine degree from Bastyr University granted in 2000 and was
until recently an adjunct faculty member with SCNM and the primary
clinician at the Hamilton Elementary School Clinic.
Buratovich, Nick Associate Professor/Chair of Physical
Medicine. B.S., Saint Marys College; N.M.D., National
College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Buratovich is a graduate
of National College of Naturopathic Medicine (1983). Dr. Buratovich
specializes in manipulation, acupuncture and nutrition as well
as homeopathy and botanical medicine . In addition to maintaining
two busy practices, Dr. Buratovich teaches Physical Medicine
at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences
and is an active member of the Southwest College of Naturopathic
Medicine & Health Sciences' Board of Trustees.
Deng, Yong Professor/Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. M.D. (China), L.Ac., Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, P.R.China. Dr. Deng is a graduate of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese in Chengdu, P.R. China where he earned his MD of medical science in 1983 and MS of traditional Chinese medicine in 1996. From 1983 through 1996, he taught and practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the same university and its teaching hospital. Dr. Deng is a well-known lecturer in China and was invited into Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in 1996.
He is currently the Professor and Department Chair of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences and has his practice at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center. Dr. Deng has over sixteen years experience in practicing acupuncture, Chinese herbs and Tiu Na (Chinese therapeutic massage) for wide range of diseases and conditions. He is L. Ac in Arizona and Dipl. Ac. of NCCAOM. Dr. Deng teaches Oriental Medicine including Acupuncture.
Dye, John Associate Professor/Chair of Mind-Body Medicine.
B.A., Whittier College; N.D., National College of Naturopathic
Medicine. Dr. Dye is a graduate of National College of Naturopathic
Medicine, where he completed a residency in Family Practice
and Obstetrics. He currently teaches endocrinology and mind-body
medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine &
Health Sciences. He is an attending physician and Department
Chair of Mind-Body Medicine.
He is a nationally recognized speaker in the fields of natural hormone replacement, diabetes, and longevity medicine. He teaches classes in mind-body healing, stress management and integrates techniques such as imagery, meditation, and stress-release into medical practice. In addition to teaching Mind Body Medicine, he also teaches Endocrinology and Geriatrics.
Messer, Stephen Co-Division Director/Dolisos Chair of
Homeopathy. Dr. Stephen Messer graduated with a B.S. from the
City College of the City University of New York, an M.S. Ed.
from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974, and an ND from
National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1979. He offers
medical services including nutrition, homeopathy and family
medicine. Dr. Messer has been in practice for 21 years and is
well known in the world of homeopathy as one the founders of
the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians, a board
member of the National Center for Homeopathy, and as the Dean
of the NCHs summer school program.
Morstein, Mona Associate Professor/Chair of Department
of Nutrition. B.S., Arizona State University, Foods and Nutrition;
N.D., National College of Naturopathic Medicine (1988); Residency
in Family Practice, 1988-89; DHANP, 1989. Dr. Morstein had a
private practice in Great Falls, Montana from 1989 2002
before joining the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine
& Health Sciences in November of 2002. Dr. Morstein specializes
in the treatment of diabetes, womens medicine and gastrointestinal
disorders, although her private practice encompassed a broad
spectrum of family medicine. Dr. Morstein teaches Gastroenterology,
Nutrition and the Grand Rounds courses.
