Leslie Axelrod, N.D.
Faculty, Clinical Sciences
Dr. Leslie Axelrod received her B.S. in Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts and received her N.D. from Bastyr University (1987). She graduated from Southwest College’s Acupuncture program (1999) and is nationally certified and state licensed in Acupuncture. Dr. Axelrod also attended the New England School of Homeopathy and completed a year long certificate training in Colorpuncture. She has received advanced training in the use of cold laser, IV therapeutics and Sanum Therapies.
Dr. Axelrod offers medical services including family medicine, women's health and rheumatology, acupuncture, homeopathy, pain management, nutrition and botanical medicine. She is a Professor of Clinical Sciences at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and is on the staff at Maricopa Integrative Health System where she supervises students at an outpatient facility. Dr. Axelrod also has a private practice with two Rheumatologists in an integrative medical setting at Arthritis Health in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has developed questions in the areas of rheumatology, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics and EENT for the Arizona State Naturopathic Board Medical Exam
Dr. Axelrod currently teaches the following courses at SCNM: Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throat (CLSC 762) and Rheumatology (CLSC 861).
She guest lectures on various subjects including: Osteoporosis, Gynecology and Chinese Medicine, Gynecology and Puberty, Gynecology and Pelvic pain, Rheumatology case management, Gynecology case management, Pharmacology and Natural Hormones, Clinical Diagnosis for EENT, and Student Orientations – Case presentations. |
