

Residency Program The residency
program at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health
Sciences is a post graduate, formal education program that offers
the participant the opportunity to gain a wide range of clinical
experiences in the area of family practice medicine. The resident
will rotate through a variety of areas, working with the medical
center's experienced staff of naturopathic physicians, as well
as with medical specialists in areas such as Pediatrics, Urology,
emergency room care, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Geriatric medicine
and Cardiology. In addition, each resident physician will begin
to develop their own medical skills under the mentorship of
Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center's medical staff. When
the doctor has completed the program, they will possess a broad
base of skills and experiences.

2007-2008 Residents:
MaryK Martin Geyer, ND
Dr. MaryK Martin Geyer earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she focused her training on working with underserved populations. She received her Bachelor of Science in Organismal/Environmental Biology, minors focused in Chemistry and English, with honors from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
The focus of her practice includes prenatal counseling and pediatrics and addictions and recovery. Dr. Geyer works with each patient, wholistically (mind/spirit/body), developing treatment recommendations focused on their specific health picture and needs. She is also an adjunct faculty at Cortiva Massage Institute, teaching classes in Pathology, Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology.
Shane Johnson, ND
Dr. Shane Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in psychology from the University of Calgary in Canada in 2003. He received his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2007 from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. The focus of Dr. Johnson’s residency is the treatment of acute and chronic disease utilizing physical medicine, nutrition, and botanical medicine. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) and the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association (AzNMA). Dr. Johnson enjoys hockey, waterskiing, hiking, and riding motorcycles.
Nicole Antonucci Taylor, NMD
Dr. Nicole Taylor graduated from Northern Arizona University with a dual degree in Physical and Health Education in 2001. She received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2007 from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Taylor’s clinical interests include general family medicine with an emphasis in nutrition, homeopathy and botanical medicine. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association (AzNMA) and the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Taylor enjoys dancing, art, cooking and spending time with her family.
Leila Fosdick Turner, ND
Dr. Leila Fosdick Turner received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology in 2002 from the University of California in Santa Cruz. In 2007, Dr. Turner received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. The focus of her residency is homeopathy, nutrition, environmental and women's medicine. She intends to open a healing arts center utilizing the philosophy and modalities of Naturopathic medicine. In 2005, while a student, Dr. Turner as among the founders of the Naturopathic Medical Student Association (NMSA) which has become the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) student affiliate association.
Natalie Ham, ND
Dr. Natalie Ham received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2002. She received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 2007 from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Ham's clinical focus includes family practice and women's medicine with an emphasis on homeopathy and nutrition. Dr. Ham enjoys camping, cooking and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
