Medical Hypnosis Course Just Announced
Registrations are now being accepted for the ‘Medical Hypnosis – PSYC 885’ course starting on October 3 and running through December 22. The course, held Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9pm, is designed for medical students, physicians, counselors, and healing-arts practitioners.
Students will learn:
- Basic tools and strategies to induce a hypnotic state
- Specific hypnotherapy skills treatment strategies for specific patients and conditions
- Indications and contraindications for hypnosis
- General foundations about hypnosis, ethics and legal aspects of its clinical therapeutic use
- How to individualize hypnotic treatments for patients based on the mind body interview
- Hypnosis for various indications including pain control, depression anxiety, stress management, weight loss, and preparation for surgery.
- How to integrate hypnosis with other naturopathic modalities How to chart and code hypnosis sessions
About the instructor:
Danya Epstein, ND, is a naturopathic physician specializing in mind-body medicine and hypnotherapy. She graduated from with a BA from Princeton University, received her ND from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and completed her residency at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She has attended Harvard Medical School’s Clinical Training in Mind Body Medicine and has additional training in other mind body medicine modalities including hypnosis, biofeedback and neurofeedback, guided imagery, and stress reduction. Dr Epstein completed certified coursework in Medical Hypnosis and has successfully incorporated hypotherapy techniques into naturopathic clinical practice.
