Naturopathy school is similar to conventional medical school. The education is structured with the basic sciences in the first two years and clinical training in the third and fourth years. Naturopathy college prepares and educates its students to be primary care physicians or Naturopathic Physicians trained in natural, non-toxic therapeutics and preventive medicine.
Why is accreditation important? A naturopathy degree or doctor of naturopathy degree from an accredited and licensed naturopathy college enables its graduates to sit for national examinations for state licensure. Only graduates who have received their education from a Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME) accredited college/school may sit for licensure examinations and apply for licensure in licensed states or provinces to become a physician or doctor of Naturopathy. For this reason, individuals interested in attending naturopathy school must select a naturopathy college or naturopathy degree program very carefully.
