Sale / Partnership - Ten Year Established Practice in Stamford, Connecticut

Sale/PartnerSale / Partnership - Ten Year Established Practice in Stamford, Connecticut

I am moving out of the area, and am looking for a qualified ND to purchase / take over my Stamford, CT naturopathic practice.  I have an annual gross average income over the last three years of $167K; I average 15 new patients/month; there are 1100+ charts in practice; and low overhead (which means I have a very good income.)  This is a strong, thriving practice, but also one that has room for growth in both income and patient visits.

I have been here ten years and have established an excellent reputation in the community, including receiving referrals from medical doctors, chiropractors, therapists, health food stores, and of course from patients!  I also have an excellent professionally designed website; a successful and extensive web marketing strategy; a host of print advertisements; and have sent out a newsletter 3-4 times/year for the past 8 years to my entire 1000+ household mailing list.

At the end of 2007, I will be at the end of a two year lease on a 1600+ square foot office, which I have remodeled, repainted, and which has 100% full spectrum lighting.  There is plenty of room in this office to expand services for the ambitious practitioner, or to bring in other tenants/practitioners in order to lower overhead.  I will help the new doctor arrange new lease terms with the landlord.

I currently see patients 20 hours/week, with an emphasis on core Naturopathic / science-based principles and traditional eclectic naturopathy including nutrition and diet, herbal and nutritional medicine, classical homeopathy, Chinese herbs and acupuncture, and lifestyle counseling.  (though I think any modalities would work in this practice for the right practitioner.)  I will train the new doctor in all elements of running this practice (administrative, billing, and clinical) with an extended, professional transition.  I intend to assist new doctor in obtaining a new lease on the space as well.

I see full range of cases: pediatrics, geriatrics, rheumatology, endocrinology, gynecology, cardiovascular, oncology, and everything else – I don’t turn patients away based on their condition (in keeping with naturopathic philosophy.)  Of course, I see a lot of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, recurrent infections, menopausal symptoms, fertility issues, and depression/anxiety, as do most NDs.

My practice has a high percentage of insurance reimbursement, so I'm able to serve a diverse population.  Stamford is located in one of the wealthiest areas in the country with easy access to New York City, so many patients are well-to-do and pay cash.

Training in acupuncture is helpful as it is part of ND licensure in CT.  A female doc, naturally, will appeal to wider clientele and likely be busier and more successful; a mature individual is a better candidate to match my style.

I prefer to sell the practice for cash, but am willing to negotiate on price / terms / financing in order to assure my patients of continued excellent naturopathic care after I leave.
