Director of Yosemite, CA Camp Infirmary

Posted: Apr 14, 2008

Director of Camp Tawonga Yosemite, CA Camp Infirmary

from June 8 - August 16, 2008

Be the Director of Yosemite’s, CA Camp Tawonga (http://www.tawonga.org/) Infirmary from June 8 - August 16, 2008 and act as the primary health care professional at camp. This is a great opportunity for a recent grad where they get to work directly with 10 different MDs over the course of the summer and provide primary care for our clients.  We have had NDs in the past and it has worked really well for us and them.

The Camp Tawonga Staff is a family of 160 dedicated men and women, working together to create a vital community where children have a safe, meaningful summer in the beautiful California Sierra Mountains. The rewards are great; the delight of helping children grow within the beauty of the mountains and river, and the joy of working with other enthusiastic and caring staff. This outstanding team includes people with both Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds, all of whom enjoy the Jewish customs and culture which come alive at Camp Tawonga.

Duties and responsibilities of the Director are:

  • Run the infirmary
  • Supervise camper visits, call parents, keep records, contact local EMS,
  • Work with volunteer MDs; Pediatric, ER, etc.
  • Supervise 2 assistants.

Camp experience helpful but not necessary and there is a salary of $8000  or more depending on experience

If interested send a cover letter with your CV to Jamie at jamie@tawonga.org
