 Job Description

 NBTY is a leading manufacturer, supplier and retailer of nutritional supplements based in Suffolk County, New York. We are currently seeking a Director of Nutrition.

Responsibilities:
Oversee nutrition and consumer affairs departments in 3 locations (NY, FL and CO).
Works closely with the following departments to promote company products: R&D, QC, QA, New Product Development, Website, Merchandising Advertising, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Legal.
Monitor local, state, federal and international regulations for foods and supplements.
Monitor, review and approve label copy and marketing claims to ensure compliance with regulations.
Monitor and review research and ensure adequate substantiation for product claims.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics is required.
Advanced Degree is preferred.
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the nutritional supplement industry and additional experience in the food industry is preferred.
Ideal candidate will possess excellent communications, interpersonal, problem solving and supervisory skills.
 Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
 This position is based in Bohemia, New York.
