Salary $35,360 - $37,107 Per Year
Position Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Education, or related field and one year of experience planning, developing and implementing training programs and materials. The successful candidate must have experience working in a prevention or health promotion environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and planning skills necessary. Position requires the ability to teach and communicate dynamically in a team setting. Must have the ability to develop materials and conduct presentations and training. ACTEV Basic Certification a plus.
Essential Job Tasks Provide tobacco education presentations about tobacco risks, prevention, retailer education and youth advocacy. Develop curricula and topic areas related to program goals. Organize and facilitate prevention training and training related to outreach. Maintain outreach communication materials including newsletters and manuals. Design, develop and maintain collection of educational materials for use in training sessions and workshops. Train tobacco program related professionals, community members, retailers, and students to implement tobacco related programs. Represent MACTUPP and TEPP at community events. Complete all MACTUPP reporting forms in a thorough and timely manner. Attend and participate in all required meetings and trainings. Maintain a professional working relationship with agencies, communities, schools, teachers and other providers.
Selection Procedure The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the exam process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be scored based on evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a pool provided by Human Resources.
