Presents:

Evaluating Product Quality in Dietary Supplements

Are the supplements you prescribe
of high enough quality to recommend to your patients?

Naturopathic doctors regularly prescribe dietary supplements to their patients. As a current practitioner, or student soon to become an ND, you want to know that those dietary supplements you prescribe, and the manufacturers who make them, are of sufficient quality to recommend them to your patients. But how do you know or find out if a company or product is "of quality"? What questions do you ask? What can you tell from looking at the label?

Your patients see you as the experts. In the complex regulatory world of dietary supplements, as well as the overall world of business in general, it can be difficult to know what companies manufacture products that you would consider of high enough quality to prescribe them to your patients. The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) has developed a CEU-accredited educational program that will provide candidate and practicing ND’s with the knowledge and understanding to better identify those dietary supplements that are "of quality" and the manufacturers who make them.

The program provides attendees with the requisite knowledge and understanding to be able to determine what questions to ask companies, and how to interpret the answers, to better determine if a company and its product(s) are of sufficient quality. Developed and taught by industry professionals who have more than a classroom-base of knowledge in regards to the manufacturing, regulatory, and legal issues concerning dietary supplements, this program will enhance your practice or overall education.
