SCNM at a College Near You
The Admissions team at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine will soon be visiting a college/university in your area! Each fall the team hits the road from September through November visiting various colleges/universities from San Francisco, California to Hartford, Connecticut by attending graduate fairs and participating in naturopathic forums. This is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the general public, to become familiar with SCNM and the admissions representatives who will guide them through their application/interview process.
Alison Scott, Admissions Representative, says, "I am excited to start traveling and represent SCNM at colleges/universities in Southern California and Colorado. I feel travel season is our opportunity to not only recruit new interest in the school, but it is also an opportunity to spread the awareness about Naturopathic Medicine and the amazing achievements those involved within our medicine have made."
The SCNM admissions representatives are available to answer questions students might have about naturopathic medicine, the college, clinical training, licensing exams, pre-requisites, and life in sunny Arizona.
The naturopathic forums are held in 12 select cities around the nation and sponsored by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC). Admission is free and attendees will enjoy a series of presentations and panel discussions with leading professionals in the field of naturopathic medicine and have the opportunity to ask questions of naturopathic doctors/alumni from the various colleges. "It's amazing to speak to students on college campuses that have an interest in the medical field but are not familiar with Naturopathic Medicine." Says Carol Kamen, Assistant Director of Admissions, "Our forums offer an excellent opportunity for people to come and learn about Naturopathic Medicine from NDs who are working in the field and meet with representatives from the accredited schools. Quite often prospective students come armed with transcripts which we can evaluate right on the spot and provide them with guidance."
As a member of the AANMC, SCNM, along with representatives from the other naturopathic colleges, will be on hand at each forum.
