SCNM Blood Drive
The SCNM Blood Drive was held on June 25th, 2010 and was a great success. Thirty available slots were open and all were filled by SCNM staff, faculty and students. Of the 30, 21 individuals were able to donate blood, with two individuals not affiliated with SCNM donating. SCNM reached their blood drive goal with 124%.
“The blood that was donated will save many lives and I am so proud to be a part of a community that is committed to providing this service,” stated Dawn Durga SCNM Student Services Specialist.
Stephanie Mehrtens, Dean of Students, organized the blood drive within the SCNM community. Kelly Bender, SCNM student, also played a key role as the liaison between SCNM and United Blood Services and by assisting Dean Mehrtens in securing donors.
The United Blood Services was very thankful for the blood drive held at SCNM and assures that the blood will be available for patients in need.
