The Arizona Renaissance Festival is a 30-acre village with the King & His Court, castles & cottages, kitchens, pubs, and artisans hawking their wares. Details: Celebrate Arizona’s claim to fame as the ostrich capital of the world at the featured ostrich races (the birds can run up to 40 mph) at the renowned Chandler Ostrich Festival. Details: This year’s will be Phoenix’s 23rd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Irish Faire and the theme will be “The Legend of 'Tir na nÓg' (The Land of Eternal Youth)”. This year the parade starts at Third St. between Thomas and Virginia and ends at Hance Park where the Irish Faire will commence. The Faire will have three stages featuring Irish music and step dancing. There will be food, refreshments, arts and crafts, and Irish merchandise vendors and a children's area featuring kiddie rides, clowns, face painters, a petting zoo, and pony rides and much more. Details: The eleventh
annual Southwest Conference on Botanical Medicine emphasizes botanical
therapies for chronic disease
and also features
herb walks in the desert. Conference costs: $265 (or $205
if you register by March 2). This fee covers all lectures, herb walks
(except admission
to the botanical gardens) and the panel discussion Saturday
evening. Continuing education credits are available for nurses,
naturopathic
physicians, acupuncturists and pharmacists. Speakers include
