4 at 1:05 p.m. We’ll be watching the Anaheim
Angels take on the Colorado Rockies at Tempe Diablo Stadium. The more
SCNM students, faculty, friends and family who attend, the better.
We’ll enjoy the game and spread our love of Naturopathic Medicine.

New Year, New Energy
By Paul Mittman, President/CEO
Recently
the Board of Trustees renewed my contract, and I have the privilege to
serve Southwest College for another five years. I believe that now is
the time we will all be able to take our school to a place where no Naturopathic
Medical school has ever been; characterized by exceptional quality, rigor
and creativity; endowed with funds to ensure a sustainable future; recognized
within and beyond the borders of our community and our state. Together
we will accomplish great things, I am certain of it...

Med Center UpdateBy Dr. Christine Girard, CMO, EVP
Clinical Education: Rotations have been added to provide students with more educational
opportunities.
- Drs. Highfield and Sorensen have each added a rotation. This
will increase our ability to support students in attaining their requirements
for graduation.
- In an effort to increase students’ exposure to physical medicine
techniques, Drs. Jacobson and Makeeta have been hired. Both are
trained as chiropractors, yet have different approaches to manipulation.
- Re-thinking how we utilize our space has resulted in an increase
in slots with Leslie Sherlin for training in neurofeedback. Drs.
Dye and Baral will work with Leslie in this specialty area...

What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy
is a system of medicine that is based on the Law of Similars. The truth
of this law has been verified experimentally and clinically for the last
200 years.
Let's look at an example: If your child accidentally ingests certain poisons,
you may be advised to administer Syrup of Ipecac to induce vomiting. Ipecac is
derived from the root of a South American plant called Ipecacuanha. The name,
in the native language, means "the plant by the road which makes you throw
up." Eating the plant causes vomiting...
